What is a status match? A status match is when a loyalty program offers you to “match” their program tiers/levels based on your existing status with another loyalty program. By this they allow you to bypass their annual qualification requirements.
Radisson Rewards does offer a status match from other loyalty programs. It's not an official promotion of Radisson Rewards but they do offer a specific email address where you can request a status match.
They only grant a match to the Radisson Rewards Silver and Gold tier.
The Platinum level can only be obtained through eligible nights at Radisson properties e.g. Radisson Blu, Park Inn by Radisson, Country Inn & Suites and others.
What do you need to do to get a status match?
If you don't have an Radisson Rewards account yet then create one! Sign up for an account through their website www.radissonhotels.com
Write an email to StatusMatch@radissonhotels.com including your Radisson Rewards account number and something that proofs you're holding a status with another loyalty program. This could be a picture of the membership card or a screenshot of your online account. The text can be actually whatever you want, you should express the request of the status match and let them know that you're planning on spending some nights at hotels of the Radisson Hotel Group. My experience shows that they reply pretty quick. I received my answer within a day.
This status match is a one-time courtesy invitation to allow new members to experience their program benefits and engage with the hotels of the Radisson Hotel Group. Out of respect for other Radisson Rewards elite members who have earned their status the hard way by staying all required nights, they limit this to a one-time invitation only.
